Summerversity in numbers

  • There were 110 courses with 62 different activities
  • Activities at 28 venues in Islington
  • 32 local organisations delivered the programme
  • A total of 937 young people took part
  • We had 4657 attendances
  • 56% were new to Summerversity
  • 546 young people were offered free meals as part of their courses
  • a total of 3221 meals were offered
  • of these 1619 were hot meals cooked by young people as part of the outdoor catering course at Lift
  • At least 365 course bookings for 142 young people were made through TYS, the Isledon Wellbeing Team, Social Care and Bright Futures for priority places offered to those who need extra support to engage in youth provision

Accreditations

  • 19 young people passed the National Pool Lifeguard Award (with 11 started work)
  • 9 gained a STA Swimming Teacher Award (with 7 started work)
  • 8 are now certified as a SIA Door Supervisor (with 6 started work)
  • 24 gained an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate
  • 13 were awarded a certificate in National Cycling Level 1
  • 15 gained a Sport Leadership Level One Award
  • 15 gained a Sport Leadership Level Two Award
  • 35 gained Start Paddling Awards
  • 12 gained Discover Paddling Awards
  • 11 gained an AQA Award in Music Production Skills
