Highlights 2022
Summerversity and Launchpad in numbers
- There were 95 courses with 70 different activities
- Activities at 24 venues in Islington
- 36 local organisations delivered the programme
- A total of 902 young people took part
- There were 4,699 attendances
- 670 young people were offered free meals as part of their courses
- 55% were new to Summerversity
- At least 156 bookings for 59 young people were made through TYS, the Wellbeing Team, Social Care and Safeguarding and Family Support for priority places offered to those who are traditionally more challenging to engage in youth provision
Accreditations
- 15 young people passed their National Pool Lifeguard Award (11 now working at Islington swimming pools)
- 10 gained a STA Swimming Teacher Award (8 started work at Islington swimming pools and 1 being processed)
- 7 are now certified as an SIA Door Supervisor (4 have got jobs with 3 being processed)
- 8 passed the test for their CBT Moped Licence
- 26 gained their Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate
- 20 completed an FA Football Referee Qualification
- 24 were awarded a certificate in National Cycling Levels 1-3
- 20 gained their Sport Leadership Level One Award
- 6 gained their Basketball Activator Award

This video shows some highlights of Summerversity 2022. It was filmed over two days from visits to Freightliners Farm, Lift, Prospex, Finsbury Park, Soapbox, Ironmonger Row Baths and the Business Design Centre.
During the summer of 2022, YES Outdoor delivered bicycle maintenance courses at Rose Bowl, Lift, Platform and Andover as part Summerversity.
